About the book
Description
How can you know something is real — especially when you can’t see it?
Hope and Joy are eight-year-old twins who love asking big questions. When kids at school say believing in God is silly, the girls begin to wonder: what if their classmates are right?
With gentle encouragement from Mom and Dad — and the playful antics of their dog, Rufus — the twins begin to piece together clues in the world around them that point to something bigger than themselves.
And as the clues add up, they realize the truth: God is real.
Hope, Joy, and the Clues About God is a thoughtful and reassuring story that helps children discover that faith isn’t blind — it’s built on clues all around us.
For reviewers
What the clues are
The first three clues are children’s versions of three common explanations for God — the moral, cosmological, and design arguments. The fourth answers the objection the book opens with, that you can’t believe in what you can’t see. The book closes with seven discussion questions.

About the authors
Casey and Jordan Willis
Casey and Jordan Willis and their twin daughters, to whom this book is dedicated, can often be found playing board games or traveling somewhere new. They also have three dogs who insist on being part of everything they do. Rufus is all three of them rolled into one.
As their daughters grew older and began asking questions about God, Casey and Jordan realized they wanted to be able to say more than “because that’s what we believe.” So they went looking for the reasons behind their faith, and the Shining Truth Series came out of that searching. Now they hope other families can find that same confidence.
Shining Truth Press is their imprint: an independent publisher in Pennsylvania of illustrated books for young readers on the things children actually wonder about, founded in 2026.
